Christians’ home destroyed by extremists in Bangladesh

Muslim extremists destroyed the houses of three Christian families in Lalmonirhat, Northern Bangladesh. The attack took place on the night of the first December.

In the middle of the night, the attackers surrounded the Christian families’ residences and demanded that they leave their houses. Later, they attacked the Christians and invaded their homes, breaking doors, windows and the fences around the house. They also took the animals of the families, such as cows, goats and sheep.

The Christian families immediately called the police, who declined to help them. Furthermore, when the Christians tried to initiate a process against their attackers, the police advised them to take the matter up with the local authorities.

Finally, the attackers admitted their guilt, returned the animals to the Christians and offered to pay the reconstruction of the houses. The Christians pardoned their aggressors and declined the offer of money, as Open Doors has already given them money to finance the reconstruction.
