Eighty-two-year-old Catholic murdered in Los Angeles while praying
The Los Angeles Times followed by other media reported about an eighty-two-years-old hospital patient in Lancaster, California, who was murdered by his roommate solely because he began to pray.
According to LA police information on Wednesday, the perpetrator of the crime is Jesse Martinez. When the old Catholic man began to pray, the murderer grabbed the oxygen cylinder and hit him with it. The victim died of his injuries the next morning.
The killer was detained by hospital staff and then by the police. According to her spokesman, the two patients did not know each other. Martinez has already been charged with murder on the basis of hatred of faith.
The Mayor of Lancaster, R. Rex Parris, issued a statement expressing his shock and sadness at the incident. The city of approximately 160,000 inhabitants is located north of Los Angeles.
