Schools closed in Cameroon due to Boko Haram attack

Boko Haram is one of the most fearful terror organisations in the world. They are especially active in African countries, such as Nigeria Niger, Chad or Cameroon.

Some of their recent attacks into Northern Cameroon have caused major problems for the populations there. Additionally, people are also undergoing the stress and struggle of a civil war in their country between Anglophone dissenters and the Francophone government.

The Boko Haram attacks have killed so many people that the schools in Northern Cameroon have been closed recently. They closed at least sixty schools along the northern border with Nigeria, where Boko Haram is most active, in an attempt to save children’s and teacher’s lives.

This leads many of the children to give up on school and continue in subsistence farming; this situation makes it hard for families to ever break out of the extreme poverty that continue to plague many west African countries.
