Pope Francis expresses solidarity with the Hungarian Church
After praying the Angelus, the Pope recalled the International Eucharistic Congress that was to be held in Budapest on Sunday. Due to pandemic restrictions, it has to be postponed until next year.
Following the Marian prayer, Pope Francis noted that the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress scheduled to take place in Budapest (Hungary) this year was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but will be held next year, from the 5th to 12th of September, in the same location.
He also encouraged us to “draw our common spiritual preparations primarily from the Eucharist, which is the source of the Church’s life and mission.”
