Kenyan archbishop thanked Hungary for financial support
Anthony Muheria, the Archbishop of Nyeri, in Kenya, Gary Mueller, the chancellor of the East African Tagaza University and Tom Lalampaa, the general manager of the Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) developmental group, thanked Hungary for the financial aid provided and familiarised the Hungarian Government about the progress of the supported projects, according to Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press secretary to MTI on Monday morning.
The chancellor of the university reported in his letter that they had invested the 40 million forints provided by the Hungary Helps Program in the creation of an agricultural faculty in Kisaju, near to the capital city, Nairobi.
The general manager of NRT stated that they used the 45 million forints aid to develop the medical centre in the neighbourhood of Biliqo and Bulesia in North Kenya. “This donation will directly influence the quality of life of many people, especially in the most vulnerable area, such as women and children”, he explained.
The Hungary Helps Program was launched in 2017 by the Hungarian Government, to provide help to people living in crisis. Since its existence, the program has helped more than seventy thousand people in need, particularly persecuted Christians. The principal objective of Hungary Helps is to bring aid to countries in need, thus reducing migration to Hungary and Europe.
