Middle East: the audience of a Christian channel grows during the pandemic

tv

The SAT-7 Christian TV channel was watched seven times more during the coronavirus lockdown than before.

During the lockdown, the number of viewers increased, especially in the Middle East and in North Africa.

This is good news, according to an analyst of Open Doors. “COVID-19 brought many challenges to the Christian communities in the Middle East. But the lockdown gave new opportunities to the churches and the Christian Church had a greater audience online than ever”, he stated.

He added that thanks to the spreading of the SAT-7 Christian channel, many people can get useful information about the coronavirus especially in countries where the government deliberately misinforms citizens. He believes, the channel will open many Muslim’s eyes and make them convert to the Christian faith.

These times are also difficult for the converted Christians, given that they spend more time at home with their Muslim family and are therefore  more exposed to persecution.
