Ankara plans to host Interfaith Dialogue Exposition
Following the recent conversion of the Hagia Sophia into a mosque, an art exhibition focused on interfaith dialogue will be hosted in Turkey.
This exhibition came into existence through the help of Osman Kavala, philanthropist and supporter of interfaith dialogue. He was arrested on false terror charges linked to the Gezi Park Protests, acquitted, and then arrested again for links to the 2016 coup attempt.
He has now served over one thousand days in detention, which has been condemned by multiple human rights organisations.
Despite his imprisonment, Kavala continues to carry out philanthropic work, such as helping to facilitate this new exhibition. A great amount of his past work focused on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, and this exhibition is another attempt to encourage interfaith dialogue.
