French cemetery vandalised three times in July
Since the 14th of July, this is the third time that the French cemetery of Lézignan-Corbières has been damaged.
Alerted by families going to the graves of their relatives, the local police noted that some objects have been robbed: vases, flowers, decorations and crucifixes had disappeared.
In a press release, the prefect of the Aude district, Sophie Elizeon, condemned the violence of these acts. Also, she expressed all her empathy to the families of the victims concerned as well as her support for the town’s mayor.
She ensured that “all means of the State services are implemented to identify, question and condemn the perpetrators of these unacceptable acts which violate the fundamental principles of respect and dignity of the human person”.
