Behemoth singer “Nergal” appeared in court for profaning the image of Christ
The trial of Polish singer Adam "Nergal" Darski has recommenced in the Gdańsk District Court. The musician is accused of offending religious sentiment. The allegation relates to a 2018 recording in which Darski obscenely mocked the image of Jesus in a video clip that appeared on his profile on a social networking site.
A complaint was made by Polish advocate, Bartosz Lewandowski, who is the director of the Centre for Process Intervention –Ordo Iuris.
“Nergal” obscenely mocked a crucifix, which is an object of religious worship, by placing it on his genitals, in a video he published on Women’s Day.
It is not the first time that Adam Darski has sought public attention using anti-Christian provocations. In 2011, he tore apart a Bible during one of his concerts while shouting to the public to “eat that s**t”.
