Spanish government at silent war against Catholics
The social sanctions imposed on the Spaniards by the government of Pedro Sánchez show the hostility of the rulers towards the Church. Double standards can be observed in the way the Spanish authorities deal with Muslims and Christians amid the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
The coalition government of socialists called the PSOE (Socialist Workers Party of Spain), and neo-communists from the Podemos group, did not conceal from the outset that the time would also come for “cracking down” on the Church.
Prime Minister Sánchez has always shown ostentatious disregard for the country’s Christian roots and the Catholic religion. He is known for sending very cordial wishes to Muslims on their various holidays while remaining silent on all important dates on the Church’s calendar.
Among the representatives of public authorities, barely a few appreciate the role of priests accompanying the sick in their last hours. Only the mayor of Madrid honestly expressed his gratitude to them, knowing that in the Capital alone, twenty priests have already died from Covid-19 while eighty others are still infected. It is worth emphasising that most Spanish priests are at an advanced age and are therefore at high risk after performing the anointing of the sick.
In Spain, over 20,000 people already died from the coronavirus, according to latest statistics.
