Pope Francis greets the peoples of Romania ahead of Apostolic Journey – Video!

Pope Francis sends a video message to the peoples of Romania on Tuesday, ahead of his Apostolic Journey to the country. He says that he is coming to the country as a pilgrim and a brother.

 

In the video message sent ahead of his visit, Pope Francis says that the blood shed by the apostles and the martyrs of recent times is too precious a legacy to be forgotten. During his short visit, he will proclaim Blessed seven Greek-Catholic bishops who were killed for their faith.

As we have reported in January, Pope Francis will travel to Romania from the 31st May to the 2nd of June. Although there is no mention of this in the video but

the Holy Father is also visiting the great yearly pilgrimage at Csíksomlyó, where he is meeting the Szeklers, the Transylvanian Catholics,
