Joy Bishara Recounts the Moment She Escaped from Boko Haram
International Christian Concern sat down with Joy Bishara to learn about her experience of being kidnapped by Boko Haram. Joy was one of 276 girls kidnapped from a government secondary school in Chibok, Nigeria in April 2014. She and a friend prayed and were able to escape the same night they were taken. Joy counts the event as the true beginning of her walk with Christ.
ICC launched a communal farms project this spring (persecution.org/nigeria-crisis) to help Christians who have lost everything in attacks by Boko Haram and Fulani militants. ICC’s work to secure and till the land and provide seed and fertilizer will make it possible for villagers to begin farming again and provide for their families.
