These included phrases like “Submit yourselves to Allah infidels”.  They also embedded a knife into the throat of a statue of Mary.

The intruders entered through the emergency door and ransacked various parts of the church, writing messages in black felt-tip pens on different surfaces.

The graffiti included statements such as “Submit yourselves to Allah infidels, pray 5 times a day,” “Bastard Jesus—one god Allah,” “This big Babylon destroyed Satan the church,” “The church here we are burning the first part,” “The last prophet Mohammed,” “The heads cut off from those who exceed,” “I will make war on the Christian world,” “We Muslims, we cannot accept this whore of religion,” and “Go to hell – Satan burns.”

Additional damage included broken cupboard doors, a ransacked reception area, a small broken cash register, and burnt papers. The most shocking aspect of the vandalism was the knife lodged in the throat of a wooden statue of Mary.
