Kidnapped Christian nun released in Burkina Faso
The eighty-three-year-old Suellen Tennyson had been kidnapped on the night of the 4th of April, from the Holy Cross community in Yalgo, in the Northern part of Burkina Faso. She was released nearly five months later, on the 31st of August.
The diocese of Kaya expressed its ‘ joy ‘ and ‘ gratitude ‘ at the nun’s release. They have no information on the release of Tennyson, other than that the abduction was because of one of the [Islamist] armed groups operating in the north of the country, L’Observatoire de la Christianophobie reports.
Suellen Tennyson is an American nun. She has been serving in Burkina Faso since her arrival in 2014.
