According to the Barnabas Fund, there are still eighty-three pupils being held by the gunmen who kidnapped approximately 120 pupils from the Christian boarding school in the early hours of the 5th of July in Nigeria.

As reported earlier, the kidnappers have released thirty-two of the students, twenty-eight of whom were freed on Sunday, the 25th of July; four had escaped the same day.

According to Barnabas Fund, five other students who were sent to collect firewood by their abductors, escaped on the 21st of July; the gang also released another pupil on health grounds.

This leaves the total number of students still being held by the gunmen.
