Tristan Azbej: “Let us pray for peace in the Holy Land”

Tristan Azbej, State Secretariat for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and for the Hungary Helps Program, shared a post on his Facebook page in which he called attention to the serious situation in the Holy Land. Recently, the conflict between Israeli government forces and Hamas, which controls the Palestinian territories, has escalated again.

In his Facebook post, the State Secretary write that he is watching the news from the Holy Land with concern, where he had lived with his family for four years. He recalls his local experiences, presenting the situation of Israelis and Palestinians, and highlights that he remembers that all attempts at peace ended up in bloodshed.

Tristan Azbej highlights that with his post, he does not intend to take a political position:

“With this post, I do not take a stand on anyone’s party: it must be clear that Hungary always supports peaceful coexistence, non-violent resolution of conflicts and stability.”

He also mentions that he is concerned about local people, friends and acquaintances.

At the end of the post, the State Secretary mentions the wall separating Jerusalem from Bethlehem, which, on the one side, is a prison wall, on the other side, is protection from assassination attempts. Finally, he invited his followers to pray for the people living in the Holy Land.
