Pakistani pastor was threatened by neighbours and police close to his church

Pastor Amjad opened the protestant New Life Church in the town of Lahore, Pakistan. Since then, he has been threatened and pressured by his Muslim neighbours to close the building.

On the 25th of February, the pastor and one of the church faithful were arbitrarily arrested. Their lawyer arranged for their release, but they were informed that they would do better by not reopening the church.

Although freedom of worship is theoretically guaranteed in Pakistan, persecution against Christians increases because they are considered both allies of Western countries and inferior to Muslims.
