Nigerian pastor beaten up after refusing an animist celebration in his temple
A pastor was beaten up in Kogi, Nigeria, because he did not let an animist ceremony be organised in his temple. He is still in a coma.
The pastor was beaten up in his sleep on the 1st of March.
A member from the pastor’s family told the correspondent of Daily News:
“They wanted to perform [a ritual] to the gods of the land which we call “Ane” in Igala land. The pastor told them that this was not the right place to do it, and they should leave. They left but returned that night armed with dangerous objects to beat him into a coma.”
The pastor is now in a critical condition and is being treated in the hospital of Kogi.
