Leftist parties unite to oppose nativity scene in France

Fifteen leftist parties and associations united in France to remove a nativity scene at the town hall entrance
The leftist parties and associations (including the EELV, France Insoumise, the PCF or the MRAP) called the town prefect to remove the nativity scene from the entry to the town hall of Perpignan, in Southeast France.
According to the plaintiffs, the nativity scene violates the 1905 law of laicity. However, the nativity scene has always been at the entry of the town in the past.
The extreme leftists probably want to remove the monument now, because the actual mayor of Perpignan is Louis Aliot is a member of the extreme right National Rally (RN) party.
