Catholic Mass taken off the airwaves in Belarus

"The sudden removal from public radio broadcasts of Holy Mass demonstrates the persecution of the Church in Belarus," stated the Vicar General of the Minsk-Mogilev Archdiocese, Bishop Yuriy Kasabutsky.
In September, the Belarusian public broadcaster suddenly stopped the broadcasting of the Holy Mass from the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Minsk.
As Fr. Antoni Klimantowicz from the Minsk parish noted that Mass it is still celebrated and there are no technical impediments about broadcasting it in the media.
For many faithful, especially the elderly and the sick, radio broadcasts are practically the only chance to join the prayer of the Church, listen to the Word of God and participate in Holy Communion,” emphasises the priest.
