The Church of Saint Peter in Macon, France was set on fire

The Church of Saint Peter in Macon, France was set on fire on Thursday the 20th of August.
The fire started in a side-chapel of the church, where some artificial flowers caught fire. Thanks to the rapid reaction of the parishioners, further damages were avoided.
Police have not excluded the possibility of that the cause of the fire was accidental, however, the parish priest, Father André Guimet confirmed that two days earlier, on the 18th of August, some young people tried to set the church on fire, but were spotted and fled the building.
