Leftist activist calls for removal of “white Jesus” statues
This Monday, anti-racist activist Shaun King called on Twitter to remove the artistic images of Christ and the Virgin Mary if they are portrayed as "white". In his opinion, they serve to strengthen the dominance of whites over racial minorities.
“I think that the monuments of the white European recognised as Jesus should be overthrown. They are a form of white supremacy. Always been like that. In the Bible, when Jesus’ family wanted to hide and get mixed up in the crowd, guess where they went? EGYPT! Not Denmark. ” “Demolish/dismantle them,” King wrote.
In another publication, he also called for the removal of all murals and stained glass windows that depict Jesus Christ, his Mother and the disciples as white Europeans. Considering them as “a huge manifestation of white supremacy,” he stated that they were “created as tools of oppression. Racist propaganda. They should all be removed.”
This activist’s statements reveal the insanity of political correctness. They testify to the blasphemous fight against symbols of Christianity and the barbaric fight against cultural achievements in the name of anti-racist delirium. Surely, in like manner, one could justify the fight against images of a dark-skinned Jesus, located in Ethiopia, or images in Asian countries depicting the Son of God with Asian traits.
