Fifty-five tombs damaged in a Catholic cemetery in France

Fifty-five tombs were damaged in the cemetery of the church of Gujan Metras, in the department of Gironde, on Thursday, the 21st of May.

 

A town official noticed the destruction when he closed the cemetery on Thursday evening. Fifty-five tombs had been damaged after vandals broke flower pots, headstones, and some statues of Jesus. The officer  informed the police, who arrived on site to assess the damage.

The identity of the perpetrators is still unknown.
