Suspect arrested after severely injuring pro-life activists
The suspect accused of brutally assaulting two elderly pro-life activists outside a Baltimore abortion clinic last summer has been arrested, highlighting ongoing violence against the pro-life movement amid a turbulent political climate.
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), representing the victims, announced the arrest on Thursday. Although the suspect’s name and details were not disclosed, the ACLJ called the arrest a “major breakthrough.” The victims, Mark Crosby (84) and Dick Schaefer (73) were attacked while advocating for pro-life causes outside a Baltimore Planned Parenthood clinic in May 2023.
Jay Walton of Baltimore County Right to Life shared an image on social media showing Crosby’s injuries, including severe swelling above his right eye, a shut eye, and blood streaming down his face. His T-shirt was also stained during the incident.
Crosby was injured while trying to protect Schaefer from the attacker. Pro-life activist Jody Ward recounted on social media that an “angry man” had confronted the elderly activists during the altercation.
