Another Chibok girl given over to the authorities

One of the two Muslim Chibok girls, abducted by Boko Haram, was given over to the authorities in Borno State, Northern Nigeria, along with her two children.

The Muslim Hassana Adamu was liberated only some days after another kidnapped Chibok girl, the Christian Ruth Ngalidar Pogu, who gave birth to two children during her captivity.

Recently, Boko Haram handed over many combatants and captives to the government. According to information from the New Humanitarian news agency, the government has had more than one thousand Jihadists given  over to them in the last weeks.

Experts say that this mass surrender is due to the death of the leader Abubakar Shekaru, who passed away in May.

The repentant terrorists participate in a Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) programme, a deradicalisation programme.

Until now, 366 terrorists and 746 members of the extremist group emerged from the forest saying that they regret their violent acts, which caused the death of thirty-thousand people and caused permanent mental harm to many others.
