Pakistan: fifty-three thousand dollars offered for the head of a Christian man
A Christian man, Faraz Pervaiz, was condemned to death for blasphemy in 2014. Now, he is living in Thailand, as he managed to escape in 2014, but now he is wanted, and a bounty of ten million rupees (fifty-three thousand American dollars)is offered for the person who beheads him.
The Christian father of three is accused of having published blasphemous content on social networks. In 2013, he supported Christians at the Joseph Colony in Lahore, where 116 houses and two churches were looted. He then led demonstrations and kept a blog, deemed blasphemous, on which he criticised Muhammad.
The bounty notices are placed in Pakistan, and according to them, ten million rupees is the “price of the head of the cursed blasphemer”.
