Nigeria: Gunmen kill three Christian siblings and two women in Plateau State
Gunmen, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, killed five people in two separate attacks in Kwal district, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, on the 24th of March. This atrocities occurred in Kperie and Gbra Zongo communities.
The group of criminals killed three children from the same Christian family in Gbra Zongo before moving to the neighbouring Kperie to kill two women.
An uncle of the slain children, who identified himself as Danjuma Anthony, confirmed the killings in Gbra Zongo to our correspondent in Jos. He named the children as Rachel (six), Jacob (three) and Charity (one).
“The family is in pain because those killed during the attack in Gbra Zongo were the children of my younger brother, Anthony explains. “The children were sleeping in their home when around 9.45pm the gunmen, who were about three, came and killed them (…) The father was not at home because he had gone on security patrol of the community while the wife, who was at home, was sleeping in another room,” he added.
A youth leader in Kperie named Rogo Friday, confirmed the killing of two women in the community. “The women were not from the community. They just came for a visit and died on their way back home,” Friday explained.
