The heads of mission of 25 countries to Hungary marked the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence at a reception held at Budapest’s Sziget Festival on Friday.
Last Friday was the first time we had the opportunity to commemorate the Day of Remembrance of Survivors of Religious Persecution. S4C, as the leading Hungarian news service on the persecution of Christians, welcomed the establishment of the remembrance day and was the first to announce it to the public in Hungary. On the 3rd of August, the members of the editorial team reaffirmed their commitment to our persecuted Christian brethren.
Hungary sets an example for the more affluent countries when it comes to helping persecuted Christians, said Miklós Soltész, Secretary of State for Churches, Minorities and Civil Affairs. He was speaking from the Prime Minister’s Office at a conference entitled: “The security situation of religious communities in a changing world”, that was held in Budapest on Monday.
