A cameraman of BMF TV was asked to exclude the nativity scene with the infant Jesus from the background of a news interview with Marine Le Pen.

Marine Le Pen later shared the following post on her Facebook account after the interview.

“In an interview with  BFM TV, I heard that the cameraman was asked to exclude the nativity scene from the background. When I asked for an explanation, I was informed that it was a “director’s decision.” Is it nowadays prohibited to show a nativity scene on television?”

We do not know why a television director would give such an indication, but it is alarming to think that French TV appears to prohibit the showing of the nativity scene during  Advent.
