ISIS massacred a group Christians in Mozambique
ISIS-linked militants in Mozambique have reportedly killed four Christians in northern Cabo Delgado Province, according to Barnabas Aid.
The victims were captured and executed over several days in early November through methods including throat slitting and a gun attack. The incidents occurred in Muidumbe District, a part of Cabo Delgado that has been plagued by insurgent violence since 2017.
On November 3, Islamic State Mozambique (IS-M) militants captured and killed two Christians, referring to them as “infidels.” Another Christian was killed on November 7 in a machine gun attack, while a fourth victim was executed on November 9.
Cabo Delgado has become a hotspot for extremist violence, resulting in thousands of deaths and widespread displacement. Since 2017, IS-M has been a key player in the conflict, closely aligned with Islamic State Central Africa Province. The group operates from northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo and receives command support from Islamic State leadership based in Somalia.
