Islamists killed three people in Uganda

The Isamist fighters carried out an attack in Uganda, during which three people lost their lives. The two civilians and the intelligence officer were shot dead.

Three people fell victim of a terrorsit attack in Mugona, Bugiri Region, Uganda. The attack was carried out by militants of Islamic State Central Africa Province (ISCAP). The victims were two civilians and an intelligence officer. They were shot dead by the terrorists.

The ISCAP is mainly active in the neighboring country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC); it also carries out occasional attacks in Uganda, however, not this far. It is quite rare that the terrorists carry out an attack at such a distance, given that Mugona is located in the eastern part of Uganda, near the border with Kenya. ISCAp’s attacks are usually focused in the western regions of Uganda because it is within close range to their main operation base in the eastern DRC.

The ISCAP is also responsible for an extremely violent attack in Uganda. A year ago, more than 40 people, mainly young teenagers, were killed in an attack by Islamist militants. They attacked a Christian boarding school and massacred dozens of them.
