Trump called Christians “the most important people” during a faith summit speech

At the National Faith Summit in Powder Springs, Georgia former President Donald Trump referred to Christians as “the most important people” just days before the pivotal 2024 presidential election.

Speaking to over 1,000 Christian leaders gathered to emphasise the role of faith in American politics Trump expressed concern about what he described as efforts by the political left and others to diminish Christian values.

“They’re trying to hurt you; they’re trying to stymie you,” he warned, urging attendees to rally voters within their communities.

Trump described religion as facing a “serious threat” in the US asserting “We can’t let that happen because it’s the fabric of our country. It’s what holds our country together, and we’re not going to lose it.”

He emphasised that religion serves as “the glue” uniting the nation and insisted “That’s why you are the most important people, even if you might not fully realise it.”
