A Muslim assaulted a group of faithful in a British church
On September 1, a Muslim woman entered the Angel Church in Islington, London, shouting "Allahu Akbar" and claiming she was "there to kill the God of the Jews." Her behavior became more aggressive when asked to leave.
Inside the church, Pastor Regan King, his Jewish wife, and their children were preparing for Sunday services when the woman started shouting Islamic prayers in Arabic and directed her words toward the children.
Pastor King requested that she leave, but instead, her aggression escalated. After the police were called, she began yelling anti-Semitic slurs, including, “I’m here to kill the God of the Jews,” and repeatedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” over the church’s sound system.
Police arrived approximately 10 minutes later and arrested her for a racially and religiously aggravated public order offence. She also addressed a police officer, whom she assumed was Muslim, saying in Arabic, “Brother, remember Allah.” She was later arrested for assaulting emergency personnel after allegedly kicking, punching, and shoving the officers.
The incident left Pastor King’s family and congregation deeply shaken. He shared: “My family and I are very concerned, especially my wife, who is Jewish and now traumatized. She is afraid to go outside. Since October 7, we’ve faced increasing incidents of antisemitism and anti-Christianity.”
Instead of receiving support, Pastor King faced backlash from local Muslims, who accused him of lying and “inciting hatred” for describing what happened. A community Facebook group suspended him, and local media avoided framing the incident as related to Islam. Andrea Williams, executive director of Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre, commented: “More action is needed to protect synagogues and churches from emboldened radical Islam across the UK.”
