The Chosen is streaming on Disney Plus that has 112 million subscribers
The first three seasons of the successful Christian series are now streaming on Disney Plus, in addition to Netflix - where season one is available at the moment.
Dallas Jenkins, creator and director of The Chosen is celebrating the most recent success. The TV-series that depicts the life of Jesus Christ and his followers is the most popular Christian program of the past few decades. It has sold out in movie theatres and is the number one grossing movie in America.
According to Kyle Young, the executive vice president of distribution and marketing, the series attracted more than 200 million viewers worldwide: “Part of the goal at The Chosen is to get the show in front of as many people as possible. It took the first four years of the series to reach 100 million people. And then, in the last 15 months, we’ve reached another 100 million people.”
Stan Jantz, CEO of The Come and See Foundation – a non-profit organisation that translates the series to various languages – has a goal to reach one billion viewers. The project started through crowdfunding, and has soared to the top of the streaming platforms such as Youtube TV, Amazon Prime, Peacock, Netflix and Apple TV.
Mr Jenkins disclosed that the new season will begin releasing in four to seven weeks, at two episodes per week, around late May-early June this year.
