Pakistani police murdered a Christian man and raped his wife
Sunny Saleem, a young Christian man, was arrested on false accusations and then killed by police while in custody. According to his wife, he was detained because Muslim men in the neighbourhood wanted his land.
The incident happened in Nawa Kot, Bahawalpur, in Pakistan. Sunny’s widow said that they had a piece of land that some influential Muslims wanted, so they occupied the land illegally and then proceeded to persecute the couple. Later, the Muslim men used their influence and convinced the police to arrest the Christian couple.
Finally, the police tortured Sunny Saleem in front of his wife; he died due to injuries. Then they also raped his wife. Both the Government and the Chief Justice of Pakistan are silent as to why a Christian man was murdered while in custody.
