“It was a theft that shocked the faithful in two Catholic parishes in Bamenda. Indeed, on May 14th, 2021, the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration was burgled in the parish of Njinikom. On July 8th,  the parish of Christ Roi Fuli Kom was robbed by strangers. The desecrators of these sanctuaries have not yet been identified.

The Reverend Derek Che Choh, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Bamenda, called for prayer and reparation after the theft of these sacred and charismatic items from the church. 

“It is with deep sadness that I write to you to make you aware of certain sacrilegious acts that have been perpetrated in our archdiocese,” said Father Derek Che Choh before adding that “on Thursday, July 8th, 2021, the same sacrilegious act was committed in the parish of Christ Roi Fuli Kom. The tabernacle was completely removed from the church wall and taken away. All these offences took place in the same deanery, the deanery of Njinikom ”, he recounts.
