“Once a Christian missionary school, Edwardes College was founded in 1853 by an English organization, the Church Missionary Society. In 2014, the missionaries handed over the management of the establishment to a Pakistani pastor. The decision was challenged by a Pakistani academic in court. The High Court of Peshawar had ruled in favor of the nationalisation of the establishment in October 2019. A judgment now confirmed by the Supreme Court ”, the Infochrétienne portal explains.

The backlash of religious freedom in Pakistan continues and it targets yet again the Christian minority of this Muslim country.
