Two teenage Christians murdered in Myanmar

In Burma, two young Catholic boys who were helping the needy were shot. The tragic event happened when they were traveling by motorcycle, carrying food for the poor inhabitants of the surrounding towns.
Alfred Ludo and Patrick Bo Reh were two young Catholics who helped internally displaced people in Burma. Sniper bullets killed them while they were riding a motorcycle to one of the parishes in the state of Kaja. In their luggage, they had, among others, food for the poor.
This is not the first tragic event of this type in Myanmar. The sniper murders are designed to intimidate youth and suppress the opposition. However, many Catholics believe they will backfire.
“The deaths of Alfred and Patrick will unite young Burmese people even more. It will give them strength in the fight for justice, peace and democracy,” said Fr. Philip Aung Nge, working in the parish where the murder occurred.
