A hundred graves vandalised in a Luxembourg cemetery

Serious acts of vandalism were committed last night in the cemetery of Oberkorn (Luxembourg). Six graves were seriously damaged.

About a hundred graves were damaged. In most cases, flower arrangements were knocked over or thrown to the ground, and portraits destroyed. The perpetrators did serious damage to six graves, the headstones of which were cracked.

In a press release the municipality speaks of “gestures of unspeakable stupidity” and recalls that a cemetery “is a place honouring the memory of the dead”. Destroying such a site is “an act of the worst kind that citizens must fight”.
