Magistrate in charge of the investigation into the murder of the Ambassador of Italy has also been killed
The magistrate in charge of the investigation into the murder of the Italian Ambassador to Kinshasa, Luca Attanasio, policeman Vittorio Iacovacci, and their Congolese driver Mustafa Milambo, has been killed.
The magistrate was murdered on the 2nd of March, on his way back from Goma, where he was investigating the murder of the Ambassador of Italy.
“Local sources say that the magistrate in question was returning from a meeting held in Goma as part of the investigation into the security of the area and in particular into the murder of the Ambassador of Italy and his two companions”, according to Fides missionary sources operating in North Kivu, in the east of the DRC, of which Goma is the capital.
“This crime was perpetrated by unidentified gunmen, one of whom was neutralised during the response launched by the FARDC (Congolese army)”, says a local NGO statement.
