On the 13th of January, at two in the morning, the E block of the Noyapara Rohingya camp, in Bangladesh caught fire. The camp lodged Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, and there were also some Christians among them.

The blaze was brought under control by the firemen after two hours. At least twenty-five people were injured in the fire, and many refugees lost all of their belongings.

The origin of the fire is still unknown, but according to some inhabitants, the fire came from a gas oven.

Bangladesh is 31st on Open Doors world watch list of Christian persecution in 2021 because Christians have to face pressure from the government, their family and their friends to leave their Christian faith.
