The series of vandalised churches continues in France

The series of anti-religious attacks continue as yet another church in France is damaged. This time the atrocity happened in the southern town of Montpezat-de-Quercy on Monday night when vandals attacked Saint-Peter's Church.

“The damage was noted on Tuesday morning. But there was no inscription on the walls,” commented Fabienne Pern-Savignac, the local mayor.

Five suspects were arrested with one being immediately released. However, the rest of the group, that comprised of three young men and a girl aged between seventeen and nineteen, were placed in police custody.

Why these acts of vandalism? One explanation may be that these unemployed young people had consumed alcohol before proceeding to vandalise the church.

The suspects are expected to be brought before the Montauban Court on Thursday. The town hall of Montricoux has filed a complaint, as have several owners of  cars that were damaged in the incident.
