Young Pakistani Christian girl abducted in Punjab Province
On Sunday, 26th of April, a 14-year-old Christian girl from Madina Town, located in the Faisalabad district of Punjab, Pakistan, was abducted by a group of armed Muslim men, International Christian Concern reported.
Myra Shehbaz was kidnapped by a group of Muslim men led by Muhammad Naqash. Eyewitnesses say that Myra, a domestic worker, was attacked while journeying to her place of employment on Sunday afternoon.
The witnesses were unable to help Myra because the men took her forcibly and put her into a car while firing several shots in the air.
Speaking to International Christian Concern, Myra’s mother said that she fears her daughter will be raped, forcefully converted to Islam, or even killed.
“I beg the authorities to bring my daughter back. The culprits should also be punished according to the law,” she said.
According to a study by The Movement for Solidarity and Peace Pakistan, an estimated 1,000 women and girls from Pakistan’s Hindu and Christian community are assaulted, abducted, forcefully married to their captors, and coercively converted to Islam every year, ICC noted.
