Famous French pro-life activist Xavier Dor dies from coronavirus aged 91
Dr. Xavier Dor died in Paris on the 4th of April because of the coronavirus. He is probably the most famous pro-life activist in France, a pioneer of this movement and - as those who knew him write - an outstanding saint of modern times.
Xavier Dor was a doctor of medicine specialising in embryology; he worked in several hospitals and was a lecturer in a Paris University. In 1986 he founded the “SOS Toddlers” association.
He started unusual methods of operation, and the media even wrote about his “anti-abortion commandos.”
Dor was also the organiser of several gatherings and prayers in front of abortion clinics and Planned Parenthood centres during which pro-life materials were distributed.
Dr Dor had numerous difficulties with French courts. In 1996, he was sentenced to three months in jail for “obstructing abortion.”
It is difficult to assess how many human beings have been influenced by Dor’s activities. On the internet, he is mentioned as one of the greatest French saints of recent decades and as someone persecuted.
