President of Kenya calls for day of prayer against Covid-19

"We cannot ignore the need to speak to God," said President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta, proclaiming a national day of prayer on the 21st of March, to implore divine protection from Covid-19. There are already four confirmed cases of people contaminated by the coronavirus in Kenya.
“In these circumstances, as we have done in the past as a nation, we have always turned to God to share our fears, our apprehensions, to seek His conduct and His protection which is always present,” affirmed the head of state in his statement.“We have learned over time that speaking to God in times like this not only gives us comfort but also hope and strength to meet these challenges which, to us as human beings, may seem insurmountable” he added.
Saturday’s day of prayer, said the President, who is Catholic, “will be guided by a team of religious leaders in the presidential residence starting at noon.”
Uhuru Kenyatta encouraged Kenyans to join in national prayer wherever they are and urged the local channels of communication to transmit the event, giving everyone the opportunity to participate from home.
