The 13th of February was the two-year anniversary since Pastor Raymond Koh was abducted in broad daylight allegedly by members of a trained paramilitary force.
Pastor David Low from Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Kuala Lumpur told ICC that Malaysian churches held an ecumenical prayer service on Tuesday night where leaders across the denominations stood in solidarity to pray for the family members.
Although the Malaysian government has conducted an investigation and at one point claimed to arrest a suspect on January 16 last year, Pastor Raymond Koh’s whereabouts is still unknown, with more than half a dozen of suspects still at large.
The family of Pastor Koh, along with Citizens Against Enforced Disappearances (CAGED), made the call to Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad yesterday to personally order a police probe into the disappearances of Pastor Koh and three other Malaysians by a completely new team of independent investigators.
Susanna Liew, the wife of Pastor Koh, said she hoped Mahathir would agree to a meeting with her family to listen to their grievances. Her daughter, Esther, also said the family was hoping that real investigations would begin.
